Cocos Nucifera Oil

Oil with multiple nourishing, softening, and moisturizing properties.

Main Benefits

Coconut oil's benefits are comparable to those of mineral oil (liquid paraffin) without its side effects, making it a good emollient and occlusive, making it a good moisturizer. Thanks to its fatty acid composition, it is also nourishing.

By forming a film on the skin, it will also have a protective effect against external aggressions.

It is rich in polyphenols and vitamin E, which gives it good antioxidant properties and an anti-aging effect on the skin.

It contains a lot of lauric acid, which is antibacterial and calming. This gives it soothing and softening properties. It relieves redness and sunburn.

Use

Coconut oil, along with palm oil, accounts for over 6% of global oil production. Depending on the temperature, it can be a creamy mass or a fluid, oily liquid. It solidifies at temperatures below 25°C. This is why it is also called coconut butter.

Coconut oil's properties make it particularly suitable for dry, damaged, or irritated skin. As it is quite comedogenic, it should be avoided on oily skin. Thanks to its soothing and gentle properties, it can be used to calm redness and sunburn. It is also used in sunscreen and to treat various skin problems. It is also used in hair care to add shine and strength to hair.

Finally, it is used to synthesize many cosmetic detergents, thanks to its high content of saturated fatty acids, such as lauric acid and myristic acid. Detergents derived from coconut oil give soaps good foaming and washing power and good hardness.
