Natuurlijk astaxanthine is een rood-oranje carotenoïde pigment dat wordt gewonnen uit de microalg Haematococcus pluvialis.
Het is een krachtige antioxidant, sterker dan tocoferol en vitamine C. Hierdoor kan het de tekenen van huidveroudering voorkomen en verminderen (rimpels, fijne lijntjes, uitdroging, puistjes ...). Het verbetert ook de elasticiteit van de huid en werkt als een natuurlijke ontstekingsremmer door hydratatie te bevorderen en tegen zonlicht te beschermen. Het menselijk lichaam is niet in staat het te synthetiseren, waardoor het een interessant ingrediënt is om via cosmetica op de huid aan te brengen.
Astaxanthine heeft verschillende werkingsmechanismen
Astaxanthine is in staat om vrije radicalen te vangen en cellen te beschermen tegen oxidatieve stress. Het is een krachtige antioxidant. Het is bijzonder indrukwekkend voor uw huid omdat het nooit een pro-oxidant wordt, wat betekent dat het onze cellen beschermt tegen oxidatie en ervoor zorgt dat uw huid er jong en verjongd blijft uitzien.
Astaxanthine heeft dus anti-aging eigenschappen. Het vermindert rimpels, verbetert de elasticiteit en verbetert de huidtextuur.AA
Astaxanthine heeft kalmerende eigenschappen. Het remt namelijk de genexpressie van verschillende pro-inflammatoire biomarkers.
